Soil Analysis

Results from Chandler Orchards soil analysis

In late 2009, we commissioned a soil analysis to ensure the orchard was apt for walnut cultivation. We have reproduced a portion of that analysis, including the lab results from one of the trial pits that was dug on our property. While we invite you to read the complete analysis, the highlights are as follows:

Good Drainage

The soil is sandy and offers excellent drainage to any cultivation chosen.

Neutral pH

The pH varies between 7.06 to 7.48, neutral to slightly alkaline.

No Limits

The soil does not impose any additional limits on cultivation.

Apt for Walnuts

The recommended crops for the area are grapevines or fruit trees.
